What a tremendous boost to our campaign from Rasmussen Reports heading in to 2010!

Our campaign picked up momentum in 2009, and it is great news to close out the year with such positive reinforcement for our campaign. We are honored to head into 2010 with Rasmussen Reports declaring me as THE STRONGEST CANDIDATE in the field, but we also know that the hardest work is still ahead of us. I can promise you now, as we head into the new year, that in 2010 NOBODY will be working harder to return Michigan to greatness.

Our state stands at a crossroads. We can continue on our downward path that the failed leaders in Lansing are taking us, or we can bring about a new era of conservative government that allows our businesses to thrive, families to save and invest, and lowers taxes for all Michiganders.

I know that together, we can turn our state around, with conservative leaders who will fight for Michigan.

As I have done my entire life, I will lead, and I will fight for Michigan! Your contribution will help move our state closer to a new era of conservative leadership!

My record of fighting for our conservative values is clear; I have been named a Taxpayer Super Hero or Hero 15 times while a member of Congress.

I've been a tireless voice for the unborn, and for the right to life. I have received the full support of Right to Life every term I have served in Congress, and have a 100% Lifetime Rating from the National Right To Life.

More recently, I've stood up to Nancy Pelosi and fought against her attempts to nationalize our health care and put Washington bureaucrats, instead of doctors and patients, in charge of our medical care.

And while some of my opponents and the politically correct liberals may not like it, I've fought to keep terrorists from Guantanamo Bay out of Michigan, and demanded accountability for those who allowed the massacre at Fort Hood to occur.

I'll bring the same conservative leadership to the Capitol in Lansing that I showed in Congress. I will never lose sight of our shared conservative values.

The good news is, Michiganders are responding to our positive, conservative message. Recent polling shows us leading my fellow Republican candidates for our party 's nomination, and our campaign has never been stronger!

Michigan has been reliably Democratic in recent years, but right now Lieutenant Governor John Cherry faces an uphill battle against his leading Republican opponents in the state 's 2010 race for governor.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Michigan voters finds Cherry, the top Democrat in the race, trailing two of his potential GOP rivals by double digits and a third by five points.

Congressman Peter Hoekstra is the strongest Republican hopeful at this juncture, beating Cherry by 14 points - 46% to 32%. Six percent (6%) prefer another candidate, and 16% are undecided.

Hoekstra, Twenty-two percent (22%) have a very favorable view while nine percent (9%) regard him very unfavorably.

For Cox, very favorables total 13% and very unfavorables 11%.

Bouchard is seen very favorably by 10%, very unfavorably by nine percent (9%).
