It is well past time Lansing became serious about wasteful spending.
We need to end the practice of cosmetic changes and gimmicks that we have seen in the past. When times are tough and people are tightening their belts, the people's government should do likewise.

Orchestrated budget surpluses for the first time since 1969 as a member of the House Budget Committee from 1994-2002.
Voted for the Balanced Budget Amendment (Roll No. 51, 1/26/95). Would require Congress to balance the federal budget annually unless specifically authorized by a three-fifths majority vote.
Opposed the reckless spending by Speaker Pelosi that has mortgaged our future (Roll No. 192, 4/3/09; Roll No. 70, 2/13/09; Roll No. 212, 3/29/07; Roll. No. 141, 3/13/08)
