Team 1:10 is a grassroots community of Michigan citizens committed to re-building our state and electing Pete Hoekstra to be our next governor in 2010. Our goals are to find the 1 person who will add 10 people who share our commitment. To find the 10 who will build to 100, and grow the 100 to 1,000. Team 1:10 will build through the relationships of Michiganders living out the American ideals in our families, businesses and communities.
What do Team 1:10 Members Believe?
![]()
Team 1:10 Members believe:
-
Lansing needs to get back to the basics and then get out of the way so we can do what we do best—innovate, invest, build, and work.
-
Michigan has potential through the power of the individual.
-
Michigan’s future begins with our ideas. No one—least of all government—can predict the new jobs and innovations that will re-build our state.
-
Michigan has a rich heritage and we want it to remain our future.
-
Government shouldn’t be in the business of picking winners and losers. It is inherently un-American and it does not work. A government that eliminates the opportunity to fail has also eliminated the opportunity to succeed.
-
This is not about party. This is about each of us and the values we share—hard work, individual responsibility, and freedom.
Why do Team 1:10 Members support Pete?
![]()
-
Pete supports an environment that makes it easier and less expensive for current organizations to do business and grow in Michigan.
-
Pete supports an atmosphere that reduces the barriers to market entry so that we can have the opportunity to try our ideas and find our path to recovery in a thousand different ways.
-
Pete understands that this isn’t about numbers. It is about our families and our home.
-
Pete shares our commitment to hard work, individual responsibility, and freedom.
-
Pete believes in a balanced approach to a healthy economy, consisting of the proper role for the individual, private business, not-for-profit, and government.
-
Pete will work with us to build a broad grassroots consensus across Michigan that will enable us to win in 2010, govern effectively in 2011, and return Michigan to the exceptional place it once was.
- Pete's business background and political experience, combined with his fresh ideas for the state and ability to connect with the people of Michigan make him an ideal candidate.

Team 1:10 provides an opportunity for you take ownership of your future simply by talking and working with the people you know best—your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Michigan faces many challenges, but you really can make a difference by ensuring that the values that have made Michigan great in the past—hard work, individual responsibility, and freedom—remain a vital part of Michigan’s future.

Team 1:10 Leaders are critical to Team Hoekstra and the future of Michigan. They commit to recruiting 10 Team Members and serving as a liaison with the campaign.
As a Team Leader do I need to find 10 people who will do everything listed?
![]()
No, each Team Member does not need to commit to all aspects (donating, volunteering, putting a bumper sticker on their car, displaying a yard sign, attending events, etc.). We understand that this would be a large committment for many people. Each Team Member should make an investment in the campaign in at least one of those ways, but is not required to participate in all of them.
What do I get for being a Team Leader?
![]()
The best part about being a Team Leader is knowing that you are making a personal difference in our future. Team Hoekstra is grateful for your support and recognizes the commitment you are making. All Team Leaders who successfully recruit 10 members will receive a Team Hoekstra t-shirt. To keep updated on the campaign, Team Leaders also receive a monthly email from Pete and are given a personal login for the Team 1:10 “Insiders” web page where they will be the first to receive some campaign news, receive video updates from Pete, learn about the work of other Team Leaders across the state, and more.
